Conveyor Belt Testing
Smither specializes in analyzing strength, degradation resistance, and overall durability as well as food contact compliance of rubber conveyor belts for general and bulk material handling. We can perform a variety of testing evaluations on rubber conveyor belts, including conveyor belt failure analysis.
Through material analysis, Smither can conduct adhesion and abrasion resistance testing. By benchmarking materials and products, we can create an objective, reproducible, data-based foundation to compare rubber conveyor belt constructions, compositions, performance properties, reinforcements' characteristics and other properties.
Smither US and European laboratories are also equipped to conduct a variety of chemical analyses procedures used for product development inclusing:
- Compound deformation / formulation
- Service life prediction
- Quality assurance
- Conveyor belt failure analysis
- Forensic investigation
Smither can test to a range of industry standards for conveyor belts as noted below. For conveyor belts used in food processing and production, we can also support you with relevant migration testing for food contact materials.
